Use this tool to find Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps, Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, or Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadrons close to you.
The following is a list of requirements you must meet to be eligible to join air cadets:
- be a legal resident of Canada (NOTE: A legal resident of Canada is a Canadian citizen, a landed immigrant, or, the dependant of a person who is lawfully resident in Canada on a temporary basis for the purpose of education or employment)
- provide proof of provincial health insurance coverage or equivalent;
- be at least 12 years of age, and not have attained 19 years of age;
- normally be in good physical condition;
- not belong to another corps or squadron; and
- be acceptable to the Commanding Officer (CO) of the cadet corps or squadron.
Once you have submitted your application, one of our staff members will email you directly to make arrangements to complete your registration in-person in order to verify documents.
** Please bring an original of your child’s health care card and original documents of their birth certificate, passport, or immigration card. **
808 Coquitlam Squadron accepts applications for new cadets from September until December of each year, or until we reach capacity. Since our programme runs very similarly to a regular school year, it is suggested that all new recruits join in September. Any applications received after December or when we have reached capacity is generally deferred to the following year.

Level Acceleration
Any new recruits who turned 13 years old before 1 September of this year are eligible to be accelerated to Level 2 . To be accelerated, the recruit will have to self-study for an acceleration test.
Any recruits who turned 14 years old before 1 September of this year are eligible to be accelerated to Level 3. In addition to the study package listed above, the recruit must also self-study for an additional test, utilizing the package below.

Cadet Code of Conduct
We hold members of our organization to a high standard of conduct and professionalism. All cadets are expected to abide by the Cadet Code of Conduct. Please ensure you go over this document with your child upon registration.
